DALLAS, January 23, 2004 The American Diabetes Association (ADA), the nation's
premier voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research,
information, and advocacy, and imc², a leading interactive agency, today
launched the redesigned ADA website,
www.Diabetes.org. Created to meet the needs of its ever-increasing
audience, the site is packed with fresh content and more resources than ever
before.
"Since the site's launch in 1995, we have continued to add content and features
to enhance the user experience and reach a wider audience," said James A.
Horbowicz, Chairman of the Board, American Diabetes Association. "The primary
purpose of the redesign was to make finding valuable diabetes information
faster and easier for everyone. This is not the end of a process, but rather
evidence of a continuing effort to improve our outreach to all individuals
affected by diabetes."
The Association's website, www.Diabetes.org,
is the largest and most popular diabetes site on the Internet, attracting
nearly half a million visitors every month. Because of the site's growth in
content, resources, and most importantly, audience, some key changes have been
made to the new site. First, the revised information architecture means
information will be grouped in a more logical way, using terms, labels, and
icons that are easier for people to understand. Next, rollover menus will help
speed access to specific content while adding context to an overall category by
allowing users to view subcategories within a particular section.
"The improved website will allow us to better serve our constituents," stated
Rick Johnston, Vice President, Constituent Relations, American Diabetes
Association. He credited the strong relationship between imc² and the ADA for
the successful new site. "From strategy through execution, imc² consistently
delivers exceptional results for us."
